Rumaya Kauru Cries for Help: Residents Seek Urgent Intervention on Road, Healthcare and Water.

Kauru LGA, Kaduna State | Kauru Youth Ambassadors (KYA)

Residents of Rumaya Zone in Kwassam Ward, Kauru Local Government Area, have appealed to the Kaduna State Government and relevant elected representatives for urgent intervention over the deteriorating Kadage–Galadimawa Road and the lack of essential social amenities in the community.

The appeal, submitted to Kauru Youth Ambassadors (KYA) by concerned residents Jo-el Ahada, identifies three major areas requiring urgent attention: road infrastructure, healthcare and access to clean water.

A Road in Need of Urgent Attention

Residents say the deteriorating condition of the Kadage–Galadimawa Road is affecting farmers, traders, students, patients and other road users.

The road is particularly important to farming communities, who depend on it to transport agricultural produce to markets. Residents say the poor condition has increased transportation difficulties and costs, while also creating challenges during medical and other emergencies.

They are therefore calling for the road to be urgently assessed and rehabilitated or reconstructed.

Healthcare Remains a Major Concern

The community also raised concerns about the absence of a Primary Health Care Centre within the Rumaya axis.

According to the appeal, residents often have to travel considerable distances to access basic medical services. This is particularly difficult for pregnant women, children, elderly people and patients requiring urgent attention.

The residents are therefore requesting the establishment of a Primary Health Care Centre in Rumaya to serve the community and surrounding settlements.

The Need for Clean Water

Access to potable water is another major concern.

Residents say inadequate water facilities have forced some households to travel long distances in search of water, with some depending on rivers and other sources for domestic use.

The community is appealing for the provision of motorised boreholes and other sustainable water facilities.

What the Community Is Asking For

The residents are calling for:

  • Urgent intervention on the Kadage–Galadimawa Road.

  • Establishment of a Primary Health Care Centre in Rumaya.

  • Provision of motorised boreholes and potable water facilities.

  • Greater attention to rural infrastructure and social amenities in Kwassam Ward.

The appeal is directed to Governor Uba Sani, through the relevant representatives and authorities, as well as Hon. Mukhtar Zakari Chawai, Member Representing Kauru Federal Constituency; Hon. Barnabas Danmaigona, Member Representing Kauru Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly; and Hon. Bashir Dawaki, Executive Chairman of Kauru Local Government Area.
